FOUNDATION COURSES
Students in this programme will complete four (4) Foundation courses:
1. FOUN1016 Critical Reading and Expository Writing in the Humanities and Education OR FOUN1019* Critical Reading & Writing in the Disciplines
2. FOUN1002 Language Argument
3. FOUN1201 Science, Medicine and Technology (level 2)
4. FOUN1301 Law, Governance, Economy and Society in the Caribbean (level 2)
*Students who are not exempt from the English Language Profiency Test (ELPT) at UWI Mona and who have earned a Grade 2 in that test should register for FOUN1019 (year long) instead of FOUN1016. These students will be required to register for FOUN1002 in their second year of study.
HUMANITIES COURSES
Students are required to complete three (3) level 1 courses and one level 2 course:
1. THEO1010 Introduction to New Testament Greek
2. THEO1205 Introduction to Psychology
3. SOCI1002 Introduction to Sociology
4. THEO2016 New Testament Greek Reading (level 2)
PHILOSOPHY COURSES
Students are required to complete twelve (12) Philosophy courses, from Levels 1, 2 or 3, drawn from SMC and the Philosophy offerings at the UWI, including the following:
1. PHIL1002 Ethics and Applied Ethics
2. PHIL1003 Introduction to Philosophy OR THEO1404 History of Western Philosophy 1
3. PHIL1001 Introduction to Logic OR THEO1407 Traditional Logic
4. THEO1405 History of Western Philosophy 2
5. PHIL2002 Theory of Knowledge/Epsitemology (level 2)
6. PHIL2003 Philosophy of Mind (level 2)
7. PHIL2004 Philosophy of Science (level 2)
8. PHIL2006 Metaphysics (level 2)
9. PHIL3018 Philosophy of Religon OR THEO2401 Philosophy of Religion (level 2)
10. PHIL2025 Introduction to Caribbean Philosophy OR PHIL2601 African Philosophy 1 (level 2)
